Propane is an environmentally safe, clean burning, efficient fuel that can be used in hundreds of ways.
Propane has a variety of domestic, agricultural, commercial, and agricultural uses.
Domestic uses include water heating; indoor cooking; pool and spa heating; outdoor barbecues; space heating (both vented and unvented, including fire place heating); central heating; clothes drying; and even to help power air conditioners!
Commercial and Industrial uses of propane include restaurant cooking (almost all fine restaurants use gas, or probably wish they did!) and water heating; clothes drying and water heating for dry cleaners and laundries; central heating and space heating for a quick, toasty warmth anywhere businesses need heat; temporary heat on construction sites; flower and plant nurseries; manufacturing, hot tar roofing; and flame cutting (one of the first uses discovered for propane along with cooking); fuel for forklift and over-the-road vehicles (Propane is one of the most popular fuels for fork lift trucks and over-the -road vehicles because it is so clean-burning and nontoxic). It enables vehicles powered by propane a higher octane rating and lower contamination characteristics. It can also extend the life of a vehicle's engine twice as much as vehicles using gasoline and diesel fuels.
And these are just a FEW of the MANY uses of Propane!
Agricultural uses of Propane include chicken brooder house heating (where the ambient temperature must be kept at 95 degrees until tail feathers appear on the little chickadees); grain drying (wheat/corn); crop drying (such as tobacco) a mother fuel for farm tractors; to power irrigation machinery; and many others.
I'm sure you can see why Propane helps bring the good life to the world. For example, you can bask in propane comfort for heating because the air produced is up to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, which is much warmer that a person's body temperature. Therefore, the gas heat circulates evenly and helps create a warm and cozy feeling across your home. In contrast, an electric heat pump creates an air temperature of 95 degrees, which is lower than your body temperature! This can have a chilling effect despite your thermostat's setting.
This quick comfort level applies to many other applications for propane as well, including water heating, either inside with your water heater or outside water heating for your spa or pool. The instantaneous nature of propane gas is much faster at heating water, air, or anything compared with electricity.
As for cooking, the reason most fine restaurants enjoy using gas to prepare their meals is because the chefs can much better control the flames and heat needed, and it is much faster, which is essential in a busy restaurant."
